Moving to http://joeduck.com

This blog has moved to JoeDuck.com

Also check out a few of my other travel and history blogs:

Online Highways US Travel
Oregon Coast
Retire USA Retirement Information
Retirement Blog
Travel and History Blog
US History Website
US History Blog
History and Civil War Blog

Time to move my posting to the superior WordPress environment. Given how simple and easy it was to set up and that it's free I'm not clear why Yahoo and/or Google have not scarfed them up or copied that format. I think Yahoo *supports* wordpress but why don't they just buy it and then they'd be better than blogger.

I'm wondering how indexing will be affected as I have copied stuff over to WordPress so now it's running at both Blog spaces. If I were Google I'd favor Blogger over other formats and favor Google's new free pages over others because they are easier to keep track of and therefore harder to spam. Also this would be more stabilizing for the company than simply treating all pages equally. However, much to Google's credit, I think they really tend to favor equal treatment.

Your best bet would to be to just move it over to your own server Joe...then you don't have to move it later, and you keep all your link popularity;)

go for www.joeduck.com or joeduck.com/blog/ since I see you got the domain. You'll be happier in the long run that you did. Categories are the #1 reason.

The conversion process isn't too bad...again...feel free to drop me a mail if you need a hand.

Hi, great to know that wordpress is offering more features as compared to blogger. I have just started blogging and wanted to know a few things -
1. Would a blog in blogger be easier to get hits since it is owned by google as compared to wordpress
2. Can you add google adsense to a blog on wordpress?
3. how easy was it to migrate your posts from blogger to wordpress? did you use sme kind of software? did you have to purchase the software or was it available free online?

-- thanks.. for the info
